Cardiometabolic Health Session: Complication Station: Type 2 diabetes update
Associate Professor Katherine Tonks is a Staff Specialist of the Department of Endocrinology, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, and Clinical Research Officer of the Diabetes and Obesity Research Program, Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Sydney. She sees patients at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst, the Mater Clinic and Hospital, North Sydney, and in consulting rooms at Bankstown.
Associate Professor Tonks helped form the Multidisciplinary Diabetes Foot Clinic at St. Vincent’s Hospital in 2008 and was accepted into the Diabetes Centre at St. Vincent’s Hospital in 2009 as an Honorary Medical Officer. She is also currently a Staff Specialist at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Associate Professor Tonks’ areas of interest are diabetes (type 1, type 2 and pregnancy-related), insulin resistance including polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid disorders, obesity and other endocrine diseases.
