Associate Professor James Elder is an ophthalmologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital (where he was Director of the Department of Ophthalmology from 1994 to 2009). His surgical expertise covers most areas of paediatric ophthalmology including: infant cataract, childhood glaucoma, strabismus, oculoplastics and management of retinoblastoma.
He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics of the University of Melbourne with publications in a wide variety of areas related to paediatric and genetic ophthalmology. He is the author of 46 peer reviewed journal articles and 8 book chapters.
